: a chronic contagious inflammation that affects chiefly the superficial lymphatics and lymph nodes of horses, mules, and donkeys, that is characterized by enlargement and thickening of the vessels and softening and purulent ulceration of the nodes, and that is caused by an imperfect fungus of the genus Histoplasma (H. farciminosum)
